Summer Adventure - 2024

Image
Well it is here!! Time for us to leave on our summer adventure. Check out the map below to see our plans. The southern leg is our out route and the northern leg is the return. We have 25 National Parks on our list, and may even get to see a few more. At the end of this trip, we will accomplish our goal to sleep at least one night in every state! We are excited to get on the road again and to share our adventures with all of you. Get ready to see some of the beautiful places in our country and the adventures of Cole as we are ‘Enjoying our Dash’. Thank you for your comments on our posts and for joining our journey. As we share our adventures, we hope that we inspire you to focus on  your  ‘dash’ and do those things that you have been putting off ‘until you have time’.  Now is the time!

Vegas Baby!!

Before we took off on our summer trip, we planned a trip to Vegas. This time we were bringing my Mom along to check out some of the great things in the Vegas area that don’t include gambling! Unfortunately, Cole had an issue with his ear and had surgery the day before we were scheduled to leave. I thought we should cancel the entire trip, but Ed suggested that I take my Mom and have a girls week. (He is so awesome!!). Ed stayed home to take care of Cole, and the girls were off to Vegas. We had a great view of the strip from our room. One of our first stops (ok maybe we stopped at the casinos first) was a cool little area at the Park MGM hotel. The place was called Eataly https://www.eataly.com/us_en/stores/las-vegas . Essentially this is a 40,000 square foot Italian market and eating area. There were several deli type areas for sandwiches, charcuterie, salads as well as gelato with seating areas to enjoy your choices. Additionally, there was a sit down restaurant that served pi...

Camp Margaritaville

Image
Hello 2024!! We hope you had a very happy holiday season! With the holidays over, it is time to get back to traveling!! We headed out on our first trip of 2024 to a location about 60 miles south of us. Camp Margaritaville!  If you are a Jimmy Buffett fan, then you know what to expect at this location!! The Margaritaville vibe was dripping from every corner of the resort. The place was really great and we enjoyed it.  The weather wasn’t the greatest, but we made the best of it.  I wanted to go in the pool and try the slide, but it just wasn’t warm enough for this Floridian! This place even has cabanas to rent if you don’t have an RV or if you have friends or family that you want to share the Margaritaville lifestyle with. We saw some really unique rigs at this location.  There was apparently a club that was having a rally (actually there were several rallies).  The one that was the most unique was the group that had Semi Tractors pulling 5th wheel RVs.  This pe...

Best Sunset Yet

This may possibly be on of the best sunset pictures that I have ever taken.

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Image
Hot Springs was a neat spot to spend a few days. I would say that it was a cool spot, however, it was anything but. We started to hit triple digit heat in Oklahoma and the temperatures weren’t letting up. We stayed at Lake Catherine State park, which was a very nice. We had some great views of the lake from the front of Dash so we saw some gorgeous sunrises. The campground had some really great trails through the woods. We even had a chance to walk across a swinging bridge! We took a short ride to the Hot Springs National Park. Each of the National Parks that we have visited have their own unique characteristics. This park is definitely unique! The grand architecture of the historic bathhouses, ancient thermal springs, mountain views, incredible geology, forested hikes, and abundant creeks – all in the middle of town – make Hot Springs National Park a unique and beautiful destination. When they say Hot Springs, they are not kidding. The water comes out of the ground at ...
