A Little Time In The Desert
We spent a few days in the desert and boy did we see some beautiful sights. Wait, did you think I meant actually in the desert? Well it was kind of in the desert, it was Palm Desert, just outside of Palm Springs.
The view flying into the area was just beautiful. I love to see the snow capped mountains, I think they are just breathtaking. How about you?

While we were there, we played some golf and then we did some exploring.
The first golf course we played was Terra Lago https://golfterralago.com/ in Indigo. This course was a real desert course. The wind was blowing so hard the day we played, we felt like we were getting sandblasted! The course did have a neat feature, they use railroad cars as bridges over the canals that run through the course. If this course looks familiar to you, perhaps you saw it during the made for TV golf event called the “Skins Game”. This course hosted that event for three years, when it was called “The Landmark”.

The next day we played at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort https://tahquitzgolfresort.com
This course had some amazing views. Sometimes it was hard to focus on playing golf. We even saw a coyote run across the first fairway while we were waiting to tee off.

Our last day of golf was at PGA West, the Pete Dye Desert Course. Some of you may know this course by it’s former name – The La Quinta Dunes Course. https://www.pgawest.com/club/scripts/custom/custom.asp?NS=PG&PAGECFG=COURSETOURV2&CID=930&DN=DUNES

To be honest, these pictures just do not do justice to the beauty of this course or the surrounding area. As you drive around the greater Palm Springs area, you are treated to palm tree lined roads against the backdrop of beautiful mountains.
After we were done torturing ourselves with golf, we had a chance to experience some of the other fun stuff to do in Palm Desert. We went to the Living Desert Zoo, https://www.livingdesert.org/ . The weather was beautiful and we saw so many animals. The Cheetahs were just beautiful, and the exhibit with the Ram Horn sheep was really cool. There were so many of them just hanging out on the mountainside. They even had an area where you could feed the Giraffes. It was a great experience and one that we highly recommend when you are in the area.

We took a drive up one of the mountains to a spot where you could park and look out over the entire Coachella Valley. See the location here on Google Maps.
The views were spectacular!

We really enjoyed our time in the desert!
