Myrtle Beach

Our next stop was Myrtle Beach. We stayed at the Hideaway RV Resort. It is located right on the intercoastal, so we could see the boats going up and down the water right out our front window. While in Myrtle Beach, we played some golf, walked along the beach and had a blast. Cole really enjoyed his time on the beach. Whenever we are in a coastal town, we love to find a local seafood market and get some fresh seafood. Our favorite place in North Myrtle Beach is Platt’s Seafood. https://www.boulineaus.com/platts-seafood/ Their stuff is always fresh and they will steam shrimp and clams for you. Since we were in the south Myrtle Beach area, it was a little far to go to Platt’s so we needed to find another location near Murrells Inlet. We walked into Murrells Inlet Seafood Market https://www.murrellsinletseafood.com/ and my inner voice said, this not a place where I want to get seafood, even though the place had great reviews. As we were walking out, a gentleman was w...

Savannah is Beautiful in October

Image
So we are on the road again, this time to hit some of our favorite spots and play a little fall golf. Our first stop was Savannah to do a little sightseeing and show Cole around. We walked all around the City Market area and took a stroll down River Street. There we watched some of the big ships come into port. It was time for some southern dishes, so we made our way to Moon River Brewery. They had a great outdoor eating area that was dog friendly. The food was really good and in true southern style, we had a good size doggie box to take home. Cole was very disappointed when I explained to him that a ‘doggie box’ was just an expression and the leftovers were not really for him!! We headed over to Skidaway Island State Park to check out the trails and the campground there. Everything was just beautiful. The trail doggie was in heaven! Next time we come to Savannah, this is where we are going to stay! Tybee Island was our last stop in the Savannah area. Here we check...

Fort Desoto

Image
Last month we had the opportunity to have some very special guests join us on Dash. We took a trip to Fort Desoto Park just south of St Petersburg, Florida. When I was growing up, we took many family vacations in our 20′ Shasta travel trailer, so we were super excited to be able to bring my Mom and Dad along to experience ‘Glamping’! They got a chance to see first hand what life on the road is like while we travel on Dash. We had a beautiful site that backed up to the water and one evening we even got a chance to watch the dolphins playing in the water. Ed did another amazing job showcasing his skills on the griddle and made some wonderful food, something that I get to experience when we are on the road and at home too! We saw some beautiful sunsets and when we went to the beach it was nearly empty. Everyone had a fantastic time, and we were so glad to be able to do this.

Beautiful Kauai, Hawaii!

We were off on an another adventure. This time we travelled to Kauai, Hawaii. Unfortunately we couldn’t bring Dash or Cole with us. Cole got a chance to be spoiled on a sleepover with his Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop. By the looks of it, he had the time of his life. I don’t think he missed us at all. Kauai is a beautiful island, the last island in the Hawaiian Island chain. The first thing you notice once you get out of the airport terminal…the chickens. They are everywhere! Now on to the beautiful sights in Kauai! Check out this video of the Spouting Horn near Poipu Beach. The cool thing is the roar of the vent hole after the water blows out. We had some cool experiences while on the island. First up was an ATV tour through an old sugar cane plantation. By the time it was over, we were covered in red dirt from head to toe! Next up was a luau. We chose one of the oldest family luaus on the island. The Smith family has been hosting a luau for nearly three decades. T...
